雖然洋基休賽季傾向補強他們投手戰力，但是近日總經理Brian Cashman表示，他們同時也在尋找強力的打者，甚至考慮把過去交易到遊騎兵的Carlos Beltran，重新找回來效力。
「我們對一切的交易都保持開放的態度，我們現在正在尋找好的打者戰力，他可能是專職DH的打者，都有可能。」Cashman如此表示。
可以想見洋基在交易掉Brian McCann後，希望找尋到能夠補上他打線威力的大棒子，目前自由市場上能夠延攬的強打，包括Jose Bautista、Carlos Beltran、Yoenis Cespedes和Edwin Encarnacion等人，而據傳洋基可能會再次把Beltran找回來。
雖然在積極覓尋強打，不過洋基同時也希望同時能進行打線的換血，Cashman表示球團希望組建旅店更年輕、更強大、更靈活的打線。這可能意味著，Brett Gardner和Chase Headley很可能會在McCann之後，成為接下來被交易的對象。
